BCHC Appoints Medical Staff to Wound Center
Buchanan County Health Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Houghton, MD as Medical Director of the Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine, and Bethany Stevens, MSN, ARNP, FNP-BC as the Wound Center’s nurse practitioner.
Visiting BCHC from Cedar Valley Medical Specialists, Dr. Houghton will be responsible for reviewing patient care and results, evaluating new clinical products, proving oversight and performing patient care one half day per week. Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Houghton currently visits BCHC’s General Surgery Clinic seeing patients in the office and performing surgeries and endoscopies at BCHC.
Bethany Stevens, MSN, ARNP, FNP-BC will collaborate with Dr. Houghton by providing high level evaluations and treatments for chronic and hard-to-heal wounds. Stevens comes to BCHC with eight years of experience as a nurse practitioner in internal medicine, family medicine and urgent care. Mrs. Stevens resides in Jesup.

With an opening date set for December 3rd, The Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine at BCHC will be one of eleven Healogics Wound Care Centers within the state of Iowa. The Wound Center will be open Monday-Friday from 8:00am-12:00pm. The public is invited to attend an open house on Tuesday, December 1st from 3:00-5:00pm, located near the Specialty Clinic entrance.
