BCHC Auxiliary Donates Over $6,000 to BCHC Departments – Now Accepting Scholarship Applications for Continuing Education
On January 11th, the Buchanan County Health Center Auxiliary Board of Directors donated over $6,000 to go towards BCHC departmental needs. This donation was made possible through several fundraisers and gift shop sales.
After reviewing grant requests, the Auxiliary Board designated funding to the following departments and their requests: Lexington Estate, funding towards an ice cream machine, Urgent Care; funding of a vitals machine, Radiology Department; funding of MRI and X-ray accessories and equipment, and the Social Services Department; funding of assistive devices for patients and guests with hearing and/or visual impairments.
Currently, the Auxiliary is accepting scholarship applications from those continuing their education in a human healthcare related field as a current college student, or as a student of non-traditional means. Three scholarships of $1,000 available, interested individuals may request an application at BCHC’s Registration and Business Office. Qualifying applicants may live in or currently work in Buchanan County. In addition, three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors through local Dollars for Scholars chapter. Applications are due by April 1st. Applications will only be accepted for students of non-traditional means and those continuing their education. High schools seniors will be evaluated by their local chapter of Dollars for Scholars.
