
BCHC Welcomes General Surgeon, Andrew Rikkers, DO
Buchanan County Health Center (BCHC) is pleased to welcome Andrew Rikkers, DO, to its General Surgery Clinic and Outpatient Surgery Department.
Dr. Rikkers brings over 20 years of surgical experience to BCHC, practicing with Cedar Valley Medical Specialists. He earned his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his residency in general surgery at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and went on to complete a fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic surgery at the European Institute of TeleSurgery – Hôpitaux Universitaires de Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France. Dr. Rikkers is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.
Dr. Rikkers is available to see patients at BCHC’s General Surgery Clinic on Wednesdays and Thursdays. To schedule an appointment, please call 319-332-0950.
General surgical services at BCHC include, but are not limited to, diagnosis and treatment of abdominal pain, ulcers, hernia repair, gallbladder disease, colon cancer screenings and treatment, appendectomies, bowel obstructions, and diverticulitis.
