Wound Center Open House – December 1st
Buchanan County Health Center cordially invites the public to tour the Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine on Tuesday, December 1st from 3-5pm.
Located near the Specialty Clinic entrance, the Wound Center will feature three patient exam rooms, along with two hyperbaric oxygen chambers for advanced wound healing and treatment.
With wound care provided by Dr. Scott Houghton, General Surgeon, and Bethany Stevens, MSN, ARNP, FNP-BC, the Wound Center will provide patients with customized treatment plans. Services will include dressing changes, debridement, biological skin applications, compression therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and negative wound therapy.
Patients more commonly treated by the Wound Center will include those with diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, arterial ulcers, trauma wounds, surgical wounds, and complex soft tissue wounds. Patients with chronic, non-healing wounds are recommended to be referred to the Wound Center for specialized treatment. During treatment, primary providers will be informed of the patient’s progress and the patient will return to their primary provider upon recovery.
With an opening date set for December 3rd, The Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine at BCHC will be one of eleven Healogics Wound Care Centers within the state of Iowa.
