Safe Sitter Course, June 19
The Buchanan County Health Center will offer a Safe Sitter Course for 11 to 14 year olds on Thursday, June 19th. The class will be held from 8 am to 3 pm in Meeting Room B. The cost is $35 and the class is limited to the first 20 participants. To register, call 319-332-0850. Please bring a sack lunch with you!
Safe Sitter is a comprehensive babysitting training program with over 650,000 graduates nationwide. Graduates are able to handle emergencies when caring for younger children and are equally equipped with the tools needed to stay home alone safely.
Locally, the program is made possible thanks to a generous gift from the Buchanan County Health Center Auxiliary. Financial assistance is available for families unable to afford class fees. Call 319-332-0850 for more details.
To graduate from the Safe Sitter course and receive a completion card, students must pass a rigorous practical and written test that indicates their mastery of key concepts and life and safety skills. A registration form is available HERE. For information, or to register, call 319-332-0850.
