BCHC Auxiliary Invests in the Future of Healthcare Through Annual Scholarships
The Buchanan County Health Center Auxiliary proudly recognized its 2025 scholarship recipients during its annual scholarship presentation held June 4 at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence.
Each year, the BCHC Auxiliary awards $1,200 scholarships to graduating seniors from the East Buchanan, Independence, and Jesup school districts, as well as to nontraditional and current college students pursuing careers in healthcare.
This year’s scholarship recipients are:
- Adasyn Wolf – A 2026 graduate of Jesup High School, Adasyn plans to pursue a degree in nursing.
- Tayla Stiefel – Daughter of Dan and Holly Stiefel, Tayla is a 2026 graduate of East Buchanan High School and will attend Iowa Central Community College to study nursing.
- Taylor Frye – Daughter of Matt and Melissa Frye, Taylor is a 2026 graduate of Independence High School and will attend St. Ambrose University to study physical therapy.
- Gwen Riordan – An Emergency Department Manager at BCHC, Gwen is pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing at Grand Canyon University.
- Allison Kleve – A 2024 graduate of Independence High School, Allison is currently attending Iowa State University, where she is majoring in kinesiology and health on the pre-physical therapy track.
- Aila Anderson – A 2024 graduate of Independence High School, Aila attends the University of Northern Iowa, where she is majoring in public health.
These scholarships are made possible through the generous support of BCHC Auxiliary members, annual fundraisers, and proceeds from the BCHC Gift Shop.
