BCHC Expands Orthopedic Specialty & Surgical Services | Dr. Sandeep Munjal & Heidi Sandersfeld, PA from Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa to visit BCHC Weekly Beginning in December
Buchanan County Health Center (BCHC) is pleased to announce the expansion of orthopedic specialty and surgical services with the addition of Dr. Sandeep Munjal, MD, and his partner, Heidi Sandersfeld, PA, from Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa. With this enhanced offering, patients can continue to receive high-quality orthopedic care close to home.
A highly respected orthopedic surgeon and pioneer in robotic-assisted joint replacement in Iowa, Dr. Munjal brings extensive expertise in total and partial knee replacement, total hip replacement, hip resurfacing, and advanced computer- and robotic-assisted techniques. His elite training includes work in Birmingham, England; Buffalo, NY; and fellowship programs at the University of Chicago and SUNY Buffalo. Dr. Munjal is dedicated to partnering with patients, listening to their needs, and creating individualized treatment plans.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Munjal will visit BCHC each Tuesday beginning in late December to meet with patients in the BCHC Specialty Clinic and perform orthopedic procedures in the BCHC Surgery Department.
Dr. Munjal’s partner, Heidi Sandersfeld, PA, will also see patients at the BCHC Specialty Clinic each Tuesday. Heidi specializes in total joint replacement, hip resurfacing, partial knee replacement, computer-assisted joint replacement, and robotic surgery. She earned a BS with Honors from the University of Iowa and completed her Physician Assistant training at Des Moines University. She is certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants and is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Iowa Physician Assistant Society, and the Physician Assistant Orthopaedic Society.
