BCHC to Offer Summer Student Volunteer Program Orientation May 27th
(Independence, IA)-Buchanan County Health Center is opening its doors this summer to student volunteers. The Student Volunteer Program offers the opportunity for students 14 and older to learn about careers in health care while gaining valuable work skills and experience. Volunteer opportunities include card playing, entertainment, bed making and table bussing, reading, and more.
Application forms for the Student Volunteer Program are now available at the BCHC Long Term Care nurse’s desk. Participants are asked to list the times in which they will be able to work. Proving flexibility, student volunteer hours can be scheduled around other commitments such as work, family vacation, or summer sports.
Student volunteer orientations will be held on Wednesday, May 27th in the BCHC Board Rooms during the following times; 9:00AM-10:00AM, 1:00PM-2:00PM, and 5:00PM-6:00PM. To reserve a spot or for additional questions, please contact Dianne Hepke, Volunteer Coordinator, at 319-332-0914.
